Hi, I’m Britney Halversen.
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist | Emotionally Focused Therapist
Daughter, Sister, Mother, Wife, Friend
I help people build stronger, more secure relationships, starting with the one they have with themselves. If you're struggling with anxiety, disconnection, or burnout in your relationships, I offer a safe, supportive space to explore what’s going on and move toward lasting change.
How I Work
I use Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), an evidence-based approach that helps people better understand their emotions and patterns in relationships and within themselves. Together, we’ll identify what’s keeping you stuck and work to create deeper emotional connection and clarity..
A Little About Me
I’m a mom. I have four children ranging in age from 17 to 10. As a mother, I have learned innumerable lessons about how to love and support others. We’re a neurodiverse family with challenges of autism, PDA, ADHD, dyslexia, selective mutism, anxiety, and depression. Learning to support and advocate for my own children with these challenges helps me relate to my clients on a deeper level.
I’m a wife. After going through a divorce, I married my now husband in 2024. Going through the stress of a deteriorating marriage and subsequent divorce and then entering into a new relationship has taught me a lot about relationship dynamics and has helped me better understand myself in the context of relationships. In addition to all the professional education and training I’ve received, these personal experiences have given me an increased understanding for the challenges my clients face in their relationships.
I’m a co-parent. Divorce is difficult on children, and I do my best to participate in my co-parenting relationship in a way that helps my kids feel secure and loved. Learning to coordinate with someone who doesn’t always see eye-to-eye has been the ultimate lesson in how to be a peacemaker while keeping healthy boundaries. I help my clients with similar challenges.
I’m a step-parent. Marrying my husband gave me two more teenagers to love and support. Blending families has been an exercise in boundaries and empathy. Establishing a household where everyone feels that they belong is an ongoing challenge that also gives me valuable perspectives to bring with me in my work as a therapist.
I’m a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and welcome LDS clients who may be looking for a therapist who understands this cultural context. I understand the pressures that LDS men and women face and the unique struggles that come with being part of this community. At the same time, I also work with people of all backgrounds, beliefs, and identities. I strive to create a space that is respectful, inclusive, and free of judgment, so you can show up as your full self.
